Jade Golden Aldrich, Mendocino Coast Doula

~
Jade Golden Aldrich

My name is Jade Golden Aldrich, certified Doula, Reiki Practitioner, AA degree and most importantly mother of four beautiful children. I have lived on the Mendocino coast for 15 years, enjoying the fresh ocean air, ancient old growth redwoods, and the deep roots of community I consider tribe, family, home.

I was born on The Farm in Summertown Tennessee 35 years ago, at the peak of revolutionary Midwifery as lived by legends such as Steven and Ina May Gaskin who founded The Farm based on Spiritual Midwifery and the values that compassionate empowered childbirth is deserved by every family, every baby. The Farm provided space for the vision to manifest. Born to my smiling hippie mother in a tiny, warm green school bus surrounded by seven women was introduction to my foundational belief system about birth- safe, natural, supported and powerful.

Each of my own four natural childbirths were unique expressions of my ability to remain empowered, centered and focused in the intense faces of discomfort during birth, and my own doula provided the support I needed to achieve a feeling of success, joy, relief during each experience.

I have now been serving families on the coast for over five years, certified through Intuitive Doula training with Carla Stange, CNM, and FNP. I have been honored to work beside her, have spoken at Intuitive Doula Childbirth Education series and hosted Pregnancy Support classes at our local community resource center. We are now the Coastal chapter of NCBC , hosting Meet the Doula night and Educational Class series twice per month in Fort Bragg, and I feel the vision once held on The Farm expands through our continued support, outreach and education within our local community.

As your Doula, I will come to your home free of charge for an initial intake and to feel if the match is right for you. From there, we will create a Doula/client plan, meet an additional time, and I remain available on call 24/7 until your labor begins. I will then come to you at your place of choice and serve your immediate physical, emotional and other developing needs during the course of your labor, delivery of baby as well as post-partum follow up meal and breastfeeding support. I remain flexible to the changing rhythms of each family, each birth, and each baby, and believe whole heartedly this is your time to shine, the power you need is already within you, and together we will lay the foundation of supported motherhood eternal through creating an empowered, compassionate birth experience.
Feel free to contact me any time for further information and exploration of your birth success story.

Sincerely, Jade Golden Aldrich 707-357-1733 expandyourdreams@yahoo.com

Mary Anne Doble, Certified Doula (DONA)

I have been a Birth Doula for seven years. I was called to birth work early in my youth. I loved pregnant women and babies. When I first thought about becoming a Doula I thought it was because I wanted to work with mothers and babies. I soon realized that my love of birth had nothing to do with the babies at all but in fact it was working with pregnant women and families helping educate and facilitate their desired birth outcome.

I am a mother of two young boys. I have had one hospital birth and one home birth. I am a dancer and singer, a cook and gardener and love to spend time with my friends and family. I grew up in a family of activists and in the last few years have come to realize that my political work is to be done supporting woman and their birth choices. My Doula work has shifted over the years from labor support to pregnancy and childbirth education and advocacy work not just for pregnant mothers but for women in general. I feel passionately that women should have an empowered and positive birth experience. A birth that is not just safe and healthy for mother and baby but one that leaves a woman feeling supported and ready to embrace motherhood.

I am certified through Doulas of North America (DONA) and have completed Heart and Hands prerequisite Midwifery course. I am a partner and founder of Northern California Birth Collective a local community group of birth professionals focused on education and advocacy for pregnant woman and families. We host a monthly educational series in Ukiah, CA.

My Birth philosophy is mother centered, mother preference. I believe in listening and supporting families on an individual basis. I work with pregnant woman and their support team (i.e. partners, friends or family members) together to plan and prepare for the most healthy, empowering and educated birth experience. My scope of practice includes but is not limited to non medical emotional and physical support for the laboring woman. Together we plan the ideal birth for the individual woman. Through prenatal and birth education, practicing breath and sounding, labor comfort measures together we explore birth options for the individual woman. Doula work for me is about trust. So I spend time with the pregnant woman and their partners sharing in their lives and learning about who they are.

I work in Mendocino, Lake and Sonoma Counties. I meet with Clients on a no fee first time interview for both client and myself to see if we are a good fit. We then continue to work with together in the home of the pregnant woman.

Elise Planty, Doula

Greetings families of Mendocino County!   I am thrilled to offer you high quality, Holistic Birth Doula and Childbirth Education Services.  With years of experience, I can answer your questions and clarify your options.  I offer a few different Birth Doula packages so that you can get the support you need for the price that works for your family.  In addition to the basic packages, I offer add-on's such as massage, belly henna, and placenta encapsulation.

In my early 20's I began receiving the download that birth is special!  Over the years, the magic and mysteries of childbirth was "knocking at my door" time and time again in many different ways.  I finally found myself interning on a permaculture farm with a retired midwife.  While picking raspberries, this midwife told stories that inspired me deeply!  I soon met my future husband and within a year we were pregnant with our first baby girl!  After the birth of Airini, I quickly signed up for my first Doula course.  And have since taken several doula and childbirth educator trainings since then.  I am also currently enrolled in the National Midwifery Institute as a student midwife.

I live with my husband, two daughters, and twin step daughters.  I love to sew, swim in any & all sweet clean bodies of water, cook colorful vibrant foods, and play with my adorable family.

Serving all of Mendocino County

I am a certified Labor and Postpartum Doula (CBI), a Breastfeeding Counselor, and HypnoBirthingⓇ Practitioner. I am also Mom to 3 beautiful, quirky, fun kids.

My focus as a doula is pregnancy and labor support. However, when families want or need extra help while they adapt in the postpartum period, I enjoy helping with the transition.

It is a pleasure to have a hand in helping families adapt to the changes of pregnancy and the transitions that occur when a baby joins the team.  I attend birth in Mendocino, Sonoma, Lake, Napa, and Solano Counties.

My path into birth work began a long time ago, when I witnessed my first birth as a 13 year old. The strength, power and beauty of labor helped me see birth as a simultaneously magical and normal event. My own births included an unexpected cesarean followed by vaginal births in my home. These experiences provided me with passion that drives me to support expectant parents.

I see my role as that of a guide. I am there to point out options, aid in the process with information, offer physical and emotional support always with care, compassion and respectful advocacy, as indicated by parents' wishes. I strongly believe in each woman's right to find her own way, choose her own path and have support throughout.

Kassandra Smith, Birth and Postpartum Doula
Kassandra Smith, Doula, Mendocino County

Serving Mendocino County

Hello! My name is Kassandra Smith. I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula currently serving Mendocino County. I have been trained as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, and have had training in pregnancy and labor massage as well. I am a young Mom to an awesome little boy- my pride and joy, who I gave birth to at home!

My interest and passion in the birth world began in 2011, when I became pregnant at 18. I realized that my choices as a young woman seemed very limited which urged me to do more research. This lead me to the understanding that birth is a normal process that is in our nature and that we can make it a truly loving, bonding, and comfortable experience. This put me on the path of becoming a Doula and assisting families in having the births that they truly desire. My education and knowledge in the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum processes are expanding daily and I am very confident in my ability to trust my intuition and instincts as a woman and mother.

I give continuous informational, emotional, physical, and spiritual support to my clients during the labor and postpartum periods. This includes (but is not limited to): being on call from 36 weeks on, giving unbiased-educational based information (whenever it is needed), help with pain management techniques, breathing techniques, vocalization, massage, suggesting position changes, working alongside partners and others included in the birth experience, and assistance with breastfeeding and other postpartum needs. It is truly an honor to be given the opportunity to help families in whatever way they may need me.
